My Story
Hi I'm Tracey.
A Yorkshire lass!
I'm married to Mark and we have three wonderful boys.....well adults now!
I attended Doncaster College of Art and Design many years ago and afterwords worked as an Art Director in an Advertising Agency in Leeds.
Over the years we have moved around living in Indonesia , Switzerland and France and now here in Scotland.
I've been a painter for years but started to feel I wanted to change direction and be more 3d.
One day after a storm I was strolling along the beach and started noticing all the driftwood piles which had been washed ashore, there were so many interesting shapes colours and textures I began to feel I could do something with them.....this was it!
I asked for a Dremel for Christmas and my journey began.
Walking on the beach I'll usually be with bag in hand and collect driftwood, seaglass and any other objects I find interesting which I can incorporate into my sculptures, I don't pick everything up only the bits that "speak" to me.
I don't always know how they will turn out or have a plan unless the wood has a certain shape where I can see its obvious.
I love starting on a piece and seeing the grain and colours coming through the wood.
I also love the fact that its been on journey and is full of mystery, I feel I'm bringing a thing of natural beauty it's second time to shine.
